Not complaining as I was very excited to be a part of their weddings (or future weddings to come), but when “27 Dresses” came out last January, my name would come up in conversations to the point of…
”You know (long dramatic pause) you remind me of that girl in the movie, always a bridesmaid, never a bride.”
Okay ouch. Thank you evil co-worker, please remind me to give you coal at the next inter-office gift exchange.
I decided to make my girls a contact list. Nothing major, but a quick explanation of who’s who, phone number and e-mail along with the colors of the wedding. I mailed it out a few weeks ago and I hope they find them useful as I try to keep my “Team Bride” happy as I possibly can…
Even with the snide remarks, I have learned a few things and one was that having bridesmaids is like organizing a small dance team. We all want to look good. We all go to great lengths to have our hair just right, make-up done and dress perfect. And more importantly we all want to make our “coach” a.k.a. “bride” happy and sometimes that was hard…especially if we didn’t know each other. You have got to be THE most organized bride on the planet! ;-) Hopefully, I can learn a few tricks from you once I start the real planning!
well ... i LOVE the team mathis phone list and i have it on my fridge ready to be used! and i TOTALLY think you should have all those other brides in their own bridesmaid dresses -- shoes and all! (i of course would be in a normal mathis-wedding-original dress - hooray!)
